Making poori dough
Ingredients
- Wheat flour - 2 cups
- Water - as per required
- Salt
- Oil or ghee- 1tsp
Method of preparation
- Take enough quantity of wheat flour in a big bowl.
- Add salt; mix it.
- Pour adequate amount of water onto the wheat flour and mix gradually.
- Make it as perfect dough not thin or loose.. Let it be a tight dough which is perfect for poori's .
- Add oil or ghee at last and kneed well with your hands for about 5-8 minutes.
- Keep aside by closing it with white muslin cloth..
- Let it rest for 20minutes..
- After this open it knead once again then take a small ball size dough from it.
- Take chapati rolling board...Place the dough...then roll it with the roller.
- Make a long roll dough with your hands by rolling it front and back by pressing gently.
- Then cut into pieces.
- Then press gently on one side of dough so that it gets mildly flattened .
- Now roll with the roller for perfect shapes.
- Same way repeat it for the remaining dough. (If your not getting perfect shapes; Don't worry, have some circle shape object, like a small plate edge, turn upside down and cut with that).
You can follow this method also or else you can roughly take some small quantity of dough and make small balls and roll it and make perfect shape and fry it...
Oil for frying
- Keep a large bottomed kadai.
- Pour oil let it be more such that poori gets immersed in it first; then, floats up while frying.
- Turn on the other side.
- Press gently on top of poori with the ladle... So that it gets fluffier.
- Let it become transparent light brown and crispier..then take off it... Same way repeat it for other poori's also...
- Now our delicious poori's are ready.. Serve hot with potato masala, chutney's, panner butter masala, veg kurma..etc.
Tip
Make sure oil is not too hot... if it's too hot then there are chances for poori's to get burnt.
